I recently re-watched Brené Brown’s TED talk on The power of vulnerability after a session with my coach. Well, as a coach, we all need a coach! And the most powerful message I took away from the session was a commitment to myself to explore being vulnerable in business, which is an anathema to me! I grew up in large corporates where being human, never mind vulnerable was a big fat no-no.
In this stunning talk, Brené explores shame, fear and a struggle for worthiness and how being vulnerable is the birthplace of joy, creativity, belonging and love. The essence of living wholeheartedly.
I hope you enjoy this talk as much as I do.
Thanks for sharing this talk! I have really enjoyed and benefited greatly from Brene Brown’s TED talks and recently had the pleasure of hearing her speak at the School of Life in London – Great! Showing our vulnerability on the surface can ‘sound’ crazy, specially in a competitive corporative world but I have found when I drop the element of pretence, I allow myself be real and authentic and I act more from the heart. It’s easier to ask questions and learn after all we’re all a work in progress! 🙂
Thanks Caroline for your insightful comment, much appreciated and yes, we are all a work in progress! I hope all is going well for you 🙂
